After a quiet Saturday, it’s time to think about the best ways to spend Sunday. Place of the crime: a café we spotted in the beginning of the summer and that some of you may have already seen on my Instagram. You need to be there early enough not to have to wait 2 hours before entering the building but you do not need to come too early either … After all, it it’s Sunday! The deal is quickly made: we take an appointment for a brunch at 11:30. Let’s head to rue de Mogador and go to Braun Notes Coffee.
Context: my friend had already noticed this brunch place a day she was passing by and we had finally decided to have a brunch there to test the place. What a great way to enjoy Paris upon one’s return after the summer holidays.
Meeting at 11:30AM. Be there before 02:00PM to make sure you get all the choice available for your brunch. You are given two options: a 12 € light brunch formula comprising a slice of bread with salmon or avocado, a glass of orange juice or lemonade, a hot drink and a cookie, or a 18 € gourmet brunch formula comprising a slice of bread with salmon and avocado, a glass of orange juice or lemonade, a hot drink and a coconut granola. We opt for the second option to enjoy their most famous dessert, which had been spotted by my friend (the coconut granola). On request, it’s even possible to take two slices of the same type of bread (to suit those of you who can’t have smoked salmon in the morning). Once we found a free table, it was time to order at the counter and we were cashed in right away (a very good thing for a hurried start).
Once perched on our atypical stools, the brunch arrives little by little: macchiato coffee, lemonade, granola… and finally the main dishes. Enjoy your meal! Even if I’m rather an amateur of bacon and scrambled eggs, I’m pleasantly surprised because the products are good and I was satiated at the end of the brunch. A special mention to the slice of bread with avocado salad, pomegranate and poached egg – which is the surprise of this meal!
And to go a little further, despite an afternoon of visits rue de Varenne for Heritage Day, I still wasn’t hungry by the end of the day!
